Overview

Are you a creative thinker with a knack for social media? We’re looking for a volunteer to help us celebrate and acknowledge holidays, awareness days, and other observances that align with our mission. Your content will help keep our community engaged, informed, and inspired throughout the year.

 
  • TIME COMMITMENT

    2-3 hours per week (flexible)

    LOCATION

    Remote

    PREREQUISITES

    • Strong interest in social media and digital content creation.

    • Creativity and ability to craft messages that resonate with different audiences.

    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to stay organized.

    • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) and basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar tools) are a plus!

    • Research and maintain an up-to-date calendar of relevant holidays, observances, and awareness days.

    • Create engaging and thoughtful content ideas for each holiday, including posts, graphics, and captions.

    • Collaborate with our team to ensure content aligns with our brand’s voice and message.

    • Schedule posts in advance using our preferred social media management tool.

    • Be a key part of our digital presence and help us celebrate meaningful occasions.

    • Build and showcase your social media and content creation skills.

    • Gain experience in nonprofit marketing and community engagement.

Overview

Help spread the word about SHE events and activities! This volunteer opportunity takes the least time and can be done in your pajamas. Share with your friends whenever SHE posts an event to encourage more folks to participate.

 
  • TIME COMMITMENT

    2-3 hours per week (flexible)

    PREREQUISITES

    Basic knowledge of social media platforms

    • Follow all SHE social media accounts

    • Regularly share, retweet, and otherwise promote SHE content

    • Add comments and otherwise engage with SHE content

DISCORD MODERATOR

Foster a community environment on Discord to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome.

Overview

Discord Moderators are responsible for ensuring that SHE’s Discord rules are followed and that participants get the help they need. Our volunteers moderate the SHE Discord server on a regular, preferably daily, basis.

We are specifically seeking moderators who are regular discord users and can help foster a welcoming community environment by starting and contributing to conversations and reacting to posts, monitoring channels for behavior that needs escalation to staff, and creating channels as needed. 

 
  • TIME COMMITMENT

    4-8 hours per week (flexible)

    LOCATION

    Remote 

    PREREQUISITES

    Must be a regular Discord user

    • Moderate the Discord server adhering to our stated code of conduct.

    • Maintain activity within the Discord server.

    • Answer questions from Discord participants or escalate to admin as needed.

    • Help Discord participants onboard and navigate the server (add roles, find channels, adjust server view, etc.)

    • Follow the server’s procedures for addressing inappropriate behavior on the server

    • Answer the FAQ from users (how-to questions & concept questions)

    • Manage members (able to ban & kick members who violate the server rules)

    • Manage messages (able to delete ad/promotional/inappropriate messages)

    • Interact on the server on either a daily basis or an agreed-upon schedule

    • Suggest improvements and new possibilities

    • Experience you can put on your resume

    • Connecting with fellow SHE volunteerS

GAME MASTER TRAINER

Teach others how to become game masters by running one-shots in our Adventure Goddesses program.

Overview

Teach others how to become game masters by running one-shots in our Adventure Goddesses program.

 
  • TIME COMMITMENT

    4 hours per one-shot + prep every other month

    LOCATION

    Must be located in the Cincinnati area 

    PREREQUISITES

    Must complete our Inclusive Gaming training module prior to running their first session with nerdy people or organizations.

    • Develop and run interesting and inclusive one-shots

    • Ensure your game has safety tools such as the X-card, Lines & Veils, etc.

    • Manage disruptive player behavior (you have the ability to ask people to leave a game)

    • Work with SHE admin to schedule sessions

    • Assist new players in learning game rules and how to play

    • Answer the FAQ from players

    • Suggest improvements and new possibilities

    • Contribute ideas to the game master workshops and potentially participate in running a workshop, if interested

    • Experience you can put on your resume
