Roll for Representation: Professional Edition Volunteer

Overview

Are you passionate about storytelling, collaboration, and building inclusive communities? We’re looking for volunteers to support Roll for Representation: Professional Edition, an interactive professional development experience for libraries, museums, nonprofits, and other community organizations.

Volunteers help create engaging sessions, support facilitators, and ensure participants feel included and empowered to take the lessons back to their teams. Your involvement helps organizations strengthen inclusive leadership through play and storytelling.

• REQUIREMENTS

  TIME COMMITMENT

  2–6 hours per month (varies by session and prep time)

  LOCATION

  Virtual or on-site at participating organizations

  PREREQUISITES

  Must complete our volunteer training module prior to running their first session with nerdy people or organizations.

  • Interest in professional development, community engagement, or inclusive leadership

  • Comfortable facilitating small group discussions or supporting collaborative activities

  • Encouraging and supportive communication style

  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and welcoming spaces

  • Experience with tabletop games or interactive activities helpful but not required

• RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support facilitators during sessions (setup, transitions, tech support)

  • Encourage participant engagement and collaboration

  • Help manage group activities, storytelling exercises, or gameplay components

  • Assist with inclusive practices and ensure all voices are heard

  • Provide logistical support as needed
