Play with Purpose Volunteer

Overview

Do you love tabletop RPGs and want to make a difference? We’re looking for volunteers to support Play with Purpose, our justice-themed tabletop RPG program. Volunteers help facilitate immersive storytelling experiences where participants explore social justice, equity, and advocacy while building empathy, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.

Your support helps ensure that players can fully engage in the games, reflect on real-world issues, and enjoy a collaborative, fun, and safe environment.

• REQUIREMENTS

  TIME COMMITMENT

  2–4 hours per month (varies by session)

  LOCATION

  Virtual or in-person

  PREREQUISITES

  Must complete our volunteer training module prior to running their first session with nerdy people or organizations.

  • Interest in tabletop RPGs, storytelling, or social justice education

  • Comfortable facilitating or assisting with gameplay and discussions

  • Encouraging and supportive communication style

  • Commitment to creating inclusive and welcoming spaces

  • Experience with tabletop RPGs

• RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support facilitators during game sessions

  • Encourage participant engagement and collaboration

  • Assist with gameplay, materials, and session logistics

  • Help create a safe space for discussion of social justice themes

  • Model inclusive and respectful behavior at the table
